Overview:
CHIP provides low-cost or free health coverage to children in families that earn too much to qualify for Medicaid but cannot afford private insurance. Families can apply through their state's CHIP program, and coverage includes doctor visits, immunizations, dental care, and hospital care. Eligibility and enrollment are available year-round in all 50 states.
